The Battle explained..

Dreaming is my favorite pass time, or even call it a hobby. Being a trained day dreamer, I can dream of anything and everything which makes me happy. It is like a refreshing exercise to my mind which is constantly dealing with confusions, pressure, tensions and more. This is one place where I can do whatever I feel like doing and posses anything I want. I am the king!
"Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so." --Belva Davis.
"Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so." --Belva Davis.
This quote makes me think a lot. I am not afraid of the space between but I am afraid of how big the space is and how long will it take to shrink that space? Here I am talking about those dreams which are not totally impractical. This maybe a dream of cruising around the city in my own sleek Mercedes with a loud blast of summer tunes. The question is how long will I take to realize this dream? Will I be in the same state of mind to enjoy that moment?? This is just a small example showing the conflict between dreams and reality.
I always dreamt of coming to US, I used to dream about it ever since I was in school. When I really made it to the US, I couldn't feel the excitement. The thought of leaving my family and friends was more concerning than realizing my dream. So does this mean, dreams are deceiving?? Does it mean dreams are only good to be dreamt? Why follow the dream when it does not make me happy and misleads me? All these questions instantly disappear when another dream flashes in my mind. It is like an addiction which is very hard to get rid off.
In this battle, reality seems to be the clean winner. So should I use destiny as an excuse and stop dreaming? Stop dreaming?! This thought makes me very weak...I am a kind of person who dreams about the dreams so it is impossible to stop breaking the habit. It is such a soothing thing, imagine relaxing in a cozy place with your favorite drink in hand, Elton John's "Sacrifice" in the background, and dreaming about something you always wanted to do or wanted to be. I can see you stretching your feet already. Before you start dreaming just hope these dreams come true and more importantly hope it makes you as excited and happy you were, when you had that dream.
Wondering if I am all alone in this battle,
- Lone Warrior

"You can dream but its foolish to dream dreams" - I quote myself here.
Nice post dude. Hope this enthusiasm sustains and is not just a fleeting moment of introspection.
You are right about the childhood dream of coming to the US and the excitement just fading away. But coming to the US shouldnt be seen as the culmination of the dream, its where you go from here that is more pertaining. In other words, higher education in the US is not the end, but rather the means to an end. Think of it this way and youll wake up to the fact that dreams are an exercise in evolving from one dream to another and no dream by itself is the end. One dream is but a whole another sequence of dreams. For instance if you achieve what you dreamt, does that make you want to stop dreaming? I dont think so, we pick up from the end of the dream and continue with another thread. Everything else is just an aspiration and not a dream.
sensiblystoned : You certainly have a different way of dealing with dreams. I know dreaming dreams will take you nowhere but you should try it once..I promise it will be one hell'va roller coaster ride for your mind! :D
Dude,
How can he try dreaming??I thought its something that you dont have any control over...and thaqts the whole emaning of a dream...
As far as I'm concerned...I dont dream a lot and watever I dream is an extrension of real life.when I come out of the dream I more often than not realize that I'm right there in the middle of one...
I'm not saying that my life is like a dream..but my dreams are exactly like my life...it maybe cos I'm a very happy person...
anyway...back to u..it was a good start!keep it goin..
Photon: Thanx man! Dreams are exactky like your real life..wow thats good. My dreams have no restrictions, so its difficult to realise them. One of the constant dream I have is me becoming Neo from Matrix. :-P
you're not alone. like the sandman s/d, "What has been dreamed...can never be undreamed."
dream on and continue flying into your real world to make them come true.
sojourning crow : Thanx for dropping by. Glad there is some company out there..phew!
keep dreaming. that should not become a full time job. your ability lies in narrowing the gap between dream and reality. Ambition is the greatest motivator.Dream, Dream and stop not till it becomes a reality. nothing is impossible.all the best.
Anonymous: Thanks. Jus to make it clear I never have it as a full time job. Its only when I am relaxing or when I sit in a boring lecture..
Please leave your name next time.
Call it cliched but all librans are dreamers(more of day dreamers)

This holds true for someone I hold close to my heart perfectly, and he is also a libran!
Wookie: Thanks for dropping by. Yeah librans are gifted with this habit...good for us!
But librans are not all about dreaming..instead are more famous for the ability to maintain a balance in life and the talent to judge people.
Libra - 'Iron hand inside a velvet glove':-P

Wookie,

Sensiblystoned: Thanks for that clarification dude..you saved me from the biggest insult ever!
Wookie: Laziness a libran trait??? No way..I have met active n super active librans but not a single libran who is lazy..but as always there are exceptions.
